tablet boasts a bigger display as compared to its competitor. It sports 10.6-inch ClearType HD Display, although Microsoft has not announced the screen resolution of its flagship, but it is expected to be 1,280×720 pixels (720p HD), while the New iPad features 9.7 inches scratch resistant LED-backlit IPS LCD touchscreen with an unbeatable resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels.

The New iPad was widely expected to come with quad-core processors, but it didn’t happen unfortunately. iOS fans were disappointed to see dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor clocking at 1GHz but it has quad-core graphic processor. On the other hand Microsoft Surface will run Nvidia ARM CPU, there is not much information about the processors but we hope it won’t carry a bunch less than 4 cores.

Apple’s New iPad was launched with iOS 5.1, iCloud support and activation but it will be updated to iOS 6 when it comes out of beta. The feature that makes Microsoft Surface stands out of its competitors is the Windows RT operating system— the widely anticipated metro style Windows 8 OS version for ARM devices.

Microsoft Surface will come with a pair of “HD” cameras, the new iPad has 5MP auto-focus camera capable of 1080p video shooting and a VGA front facing camera.

New iPad is equipped with 11,560 mAh battery that offers 42.5 Watt hours of battery life while the Microsoft Surface battery will last up to 31.5 watt hours. According to analysts Microsoft Surface tablets may not compete with Apple’s iPad on battery life.

Apple’s new iPad has many strong points like new screen resolution, quad-core graphic processor and the world’s largest app and media store; we don’t have complete information about Microsoft Surface tablet so it is hard to say, who will be the ultimate King of tablet industry. Will Microsoft be able to clinch the ruling position from Apple with its Surface tablets? What say you?
